cool cool. you still have your street sv650?
the track bug is a vicious flu. i caught it myself.
I picked up a salvage 06 636 for the track for $3400!
what suspension does it have? what other mods? the m4 full setup (i assume) is pretty solid, I had their full exhaust on my 99 r6. there’s a reason they have their own ama team lol
Yup, twin twins in the garage now.
Bought this specifically to run LWT in WERA. No way I was going to bother trying to get into racing in the meat grinder. No thanks.
Bike was set up just how I wanted it.
Penski Double Clicker
Ohlins Steering Stabilizer
GMD Front End
Mychron 3 Digital Dash
Woodcraft Rearsets / Clipons
Goodridge lines front and rear
Brand new Vesrah pads
Galfer Rear Wave Rotor
Full M4
520 Conv / Vortex Sprockets
Bunch of spares and a set of rains.
I just sent rick a link for a nice 05 Gix600 in Utica for ~$3500. I could sell the aftermarket parts on this bike for what I paid for it. Gave it a good flogging outside of town for about 20 minutes and it has no issues. Going to give it the once over next weekend with all new fluids and everything, then bring it down to Jennings on the 18th and start getting it set up for next season.
nice congrats
nice man
nice. there’s an 04 r6 on wnysr for 3995 with new scotts damper and some other crap. could probably go for 5200 in spring.
j00 rocking gp shift? i cant ride without it, I’ve had it on all my bikes for so many years
I like the woodcraft/cfm nonadjustable rearsets. I have vortex fully adjustables now, and the way I set them up to be positioned, really isn’t too different from the non adjustables lol. I got em for $280 out the door though so I’m not complaining
GL, looks like a great bike
Yup, I ride GP. Was at CMP and T1 is a hard left, followed by a sweeping right/left that I always had to upshift in the middle of, couldn’t do it without fucking up my mojo when it was standard.
I have adjustables on my current SV… doesn’t really matter to me one way or the other, they are inthe right spot for me as is. I think it’s more of an issue if you are really tall or really short.
I’ll probably sell the street SV in the spring and buy some sort of big twin to cruise on to work and/or a cafe racer.
yea I want a cruiser, I was thinking st4 or something, but I want to see if Norton makes a comeback first. I saw their website a while ago (I posted a link to it on wnysr) and the bike looks hooooottttt
siq.
i don’t really know what it is. or why there is no clutch. but… looks gnar.
lol, there is a clutch
suzuki sv650(s?). there is a clutch, but it has aftermarket clip ons so it doesn’t have the big bulky turn signal controls and stuff. you just cant see the clutch lever from the angle of the shots. you can see the shadow of it in the first pic
haha, oh yeah, there it is. i thought it was some sort of wacky bike that was track only with some sort of sequential shifter and only used for rolling starts. hey, never said i knew much about racing.
why doesnt i have a head light
Because you don’t want something reflective with the ability to shatter in a crash on the bike. The only race bikes that have lights are the endurance racing bikes, and those have special regulations on how the light can be fitted.
Good pickup Walter  I got the link, not sure I can move on it right now. Other homeowner responsibilities
Thanks guys.
Bike is a race bike, it has no lights, signals, mirrors etc. Bodywork doesn’t have holes for them (race glass). It also has a stripped down wiring harness (weight savings) and only the controls it needs. Rick covered the reason why, blinking lights, or brake lights are distracting on the track. When you run a street bike you need to tape them to keep the glass together if/when you wreck.
I know a guy who got in a wreck, and lost hte use of his right hand, all of his controls are on the left hand and his feet, so his setup would look a little different, but I think he’s an exception to the rule. Most factory race bikes these days use quick shifters, which you can get for any FI bike, that allow clutchless shifting via ECU programed fuel cuts to shift quicker.
where did you get masking tape in various colors?
Thanks man.
I know exactly what you mean, being a responsible adult is such a pain in the ass It’ll be worth it later in the end. Track bikes are always around though, thanks to the endless supply of squids out there.
I figure LWT is my best bet for getting into racing, I’ll learn the most the fastest. After, I’ll decide if I want to stay, move to HWT, or get involved in the cluster fuck that is supersport/superbike.
You have to come down for a Barber day next year.
