Thanks guys.
Bike is a race bike, it has no lights, signals, mirrors etc. Bodywork doesn’t have holes for them (race glass). It also has a stripped down wiring harness (weight savings) and only the controls it needs. Rick covered the reason why, blinking lights, or brake lights are distracting on the track. When you run a street bike you need to tape them to keep the glass together if/when you wreck.
I know a guy who got in a wreck, and lost hte use of his right hand, all of his controls are on the left hand and his feet, so his setup would look a little different, but I think he’s an exception to the rule. Most factory race bikes these days use quick shifters, which you can get for any FI bike, that allow clutchless shifting via ECU programed fuel cuts to shift quicker.
