The good:
357 SBC, Vortec heads, TRW forged pistons, Holley 750, 10:1 comp.
Turbo 350 with manual valve body, 2800ish stall
Stock posi IRS with 555s on the back.
Rust free Arizona car. The paint is a little faded but 99.9% rust free.
Manual Ford rack and pinion, GM column.
The bad:
Exhaust dumps underneath floor boards.
No wipers, speedo, heater.
Trans tunnel needs patched. The tunnel needed cut to fit the turbo 350, and it needs patched or a tunnel kit.
The car is very drivable as it is, it just needs a little time and TLC put into it to make it more streetable/daily drivable.
$4000.
I’m listing this for my friend, but I can answer most questions about it. I know the car well and gave him a hand in building it. If interested call Rick at 724-841-5453.
paging me, this thing is bad ass. You can fix the speedo issue with a speedo gear to match tire size and rear gears, plus a mechanical speedo from jegs, like 150$ or less all said and done.
its probabaly a 358, not 357 haha(no way to get a 357). which would be a .060 over bored block, which means it probabaly cant be punched again without hitting water jackets, so thats the last build on the motor. (.090 is very very close to the water jackets if not in them on most blocks)
for whoever is buying this, the motor and tranny are worth 4k
The car would benefit greatly from a better converter. With that said, his best time was 8.13 in the 1/8th at Sunset in Mercer, PA which is a rough track to say the least. With a bigger stall in it, I feel the car has easy 7.7-7.8s in it. I think 99% of the front valances I’ve ever saw are broken on Conquests.
2800 isnt a bad stall for what youve listed for the combo, it probabaly needs more intake / cam as apposed to stall. you really have to start making some numbers to need more than a 3000 stall.
What gear is in the back, that will have a large factor on his times, due to being in the power band / not in it.
It would benefit from a better intake. I can’t remember the exact specs on the cam, but I remember it being the biggest you can run on stock Vortec heads. I pulls harder up top than we ever thought it would.
It has 3.55 gears and the tires are roughly 26". It has never been to the 1/4 mile but I’m guessing it would be revving pretty damn high in drive when crossing the line. If you rode in it, and know anything about stall converters, you would agree that it needs a bigger stall.
Anyways, car is still for sale. He would like to sell it soon being that we are picking up his next project car on Saturday.
