Since I have nothing else better to do with my life, but to buy cars all day long…I found this for sale on StarQuestClub.com this morning, for the “right” price…and I PMed the guy I would buy it sight unseen. I went and picked it up this afternoon.
1987 Chrysler Conquest TSi
Rare factory “B71” Atlantic Blue
163,000 miles
5 speed
The Interior is super clean…comfortable velour seats. The car came with a crapload of new/unused or BARELY used parts, including but not limited to: Brake Rotors, Brake Pads, Brake Calipers, E-Brake Cables, PS Pump, PS Pressure Line, Alternator, Timing Chain, Balance Shaft Elimination Kit, Antenna Mast, Tires, SS Braided Brake Lines, ST Springs, GR2 Struts, 1000cca Battery, 3inch KDM Performance Exhaust, Tie Rod Ends, Wiper Linkage…im sure theres more.
The stock TBI Fuel Injection harness has been completely cut/removed from the car, and the guy I bought it from was just about finished with doing a Multi-Port Fuel Injection conversion on it. Almost, if not all of the wiring has been done to it. I’ll have to get back to him for some of the details of what needs to be done still. This leaves the window open for me. I could either locate a MPI manifold for the 2.6L (G54B) engine in it, or, I could go with a wideblock 4g63 conversion which bolts right in. Or…I could rip it all out, and go with a V8 of some sort. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet with it. Here’s some pics.
and i ran into a piss yellow one in depew, told him it was a nice car… his passanger yelled over that it was the fastest car in WNY… i rolled my eyes and drove away…
As for LS1 swap…yes I could. But it’s been done, with boost. I saw it when I was in Pigeon Forge, TN at the beginning of July this year for our annual club gathering. It was quite the sight.
Trust me, you WANT people out there who can help you with a swap. Unless you have gobs of money to blow trying to be “different” only to find out some dude in a turban spent $100k 5 years ago and made 1200hp with the same swap.
If you’re gonna go V8, do something out of the ordinary, like Toyota 1U or a BMW M60. All anyone seems to do is LS swaps and although it’s a great motor, it’s always exactly what you’re expecting. I’ve been trying to find an M60B30 (3.0) on the cheap for the Corolla but if you’ve got the money, B40’s (4.0) can be had complete for around 1500.
I have no cash right now. Like…i dont know how im gonna pay my bills this month. This car, just happened to be the right price, and i would be insane to say no to it.
