Scramblers getting V8, 1tons, and 44"s

the only thing thats scares me are the rear shackles

ya im not a believer of shackle lifts, but i needed longer than stock to keep them from inverting, a problem i had one to many times on the trail with my othe CJ. i have since cut off the excess 2 holes, and i might weld in a cross bar between them in all 4 corners.

o i fogot, on too many boards, i lowered it 3" front and rear this weekend, did a ubolt conversion on the front D60, fixed the steering and almost got the brakes bled out. Made its first Buffalo to Rochester drive on the thruway, feels pretty good…

thats what i did on the s10. those rear shackles use to sway like crazy.

I keep of see you around in Rochester. Saw you on 390 last week and at McGreggors on jefferson the other day too.

ya, i kinda stick out on the 390… baja… hows the new machine shop… done yet?

Looks like you need to push the front end out a little. Have you tried flexing it at all?

When i get the new motor and tranny in I was thinking about doing a shackel reversal and streching the front about 4". didnt bother now, so i could use the stock front driveshaft to make it drivable.

I also got a set of humvee beadlocks this weekend with the magnesium runflats. Going to run either IROK’s or TSL’s in a 42". i have to make new hi-stear arms that are off set and do some creative caliper/nuckle grinding to get the 7" backspaced wheels to fit. going to look way better with the tires tucked in the body where they are supose to be… but still a 42" is going to look nice!

got the 42" TSL’s mounted up on H1 double bead locks… looks sick…

sweet jeep

that looks great.

When do you think it will be finished?

its drivable now (FWD, stock drive train), but havent got the motor back from the machine shop… 4bolt 350. The new 1ton tranny and case (SM465, NP205) are all just sitting waiting. gona tear it all apart to put eveything in how i want it, so it might be a while till the body is back on and painted… End of May was the goal for a rockcrawling Club run… but i just got a T18 for my other CJ… which is like a weekend swap so i can crawl with that one then too… gota love 6.32:1 First gear

Gonna throw some serious mud.
You plan on large flares, or just letting the mud fly?

i say let it fly.

im not sure i will be doing too much mudding with this truck, the mud thing is getting kind of old, i have gotten into rock crawling and have been trying to build this rig for it…

That think will be a beasy on the rock. Plane on doing a little better cage?

got the block back from the machine shop, pulled the old motor out. Cage wise, im sure ill end up doing something with the 50’ of military mast i have in my garage, its like 2.75" .120 wall i think.

I definatly have to see this thing in person and action. You plan on a exo cage or just something in the cab?
