Sears automotive @ the Colonie Center Mall = scumbags

Thats what I said! :rofl Put the tech that fucked up the car in the pass. side, cop can stand at the door, and I will drive it in the parking lot towards their door and stop without hitting it! LOL

Like 2ManyCamaros said, that could be what they did. compressing the piston in the caliper(s) and not pumping the pedal. IF that was the case, the work order was NEVER signed to lay a wrench on the car, other than to change the battery. You dont need to remove the caliper to check brakes, hell you dont really need to remove the wheel most of the time! If they admit to the above, not only does it express their guilt, but its illegal to remove any component on a vehicle unless specified in the SIGNED work order. I can sort of see removing something for “inspecting/troubleshooting”, like pulling the dip stick to check oil, but removing a caliper and compressing the piston is NOT something I could consider, inspecting/troubleshooting. I consider it retarded.

Scratches to the bumper, hood, fender etc. No pics, sorry. Door it mangled he said!

I passed it along to him, he is looking into doing this. THANKS!

Car 1 > Door 0

Involve DMV for results. Rinse and repeat.

ROFLwAgEnS member had wheels destroyed at Sears, my rendition below.

^I lol’d. Again.

I LOLed HARD!

yeah his wheels got mangled pretty bad. thread was a good read as well.

Sounds like something was wrong when they said come back in 2 hrs. That free alignment check isn’t putting the car on the rack, its putting 4 clamps on the tires, rolling the car forward 2 ft to measure camber/caster/toe and its done. Takes 30 seconds.

Let’s be fair on their time estimate. They need to take into account a time consuming and very labor intensive battery change as well! :lol

Don’t forget the allocated 30 minute allocated “we need to figure out how to cover this up” - plan.

:Idiots really man ? u have no clue .

there is a reason GOOD shops like the one i work at have a great rep , thats cause we honest and legit . we show ya whats fucked up . ill agree with will “toomanycamaros” idiot compressed piston and he retartedly moved car without pumping back up lol

I’m just saying what they do for an alignment check. I’m not saying it makes them a good/bad shop, or that what they do is right/wrong. I’m simply stating that when they said this “alignment check” was happening and they said it would take 2 hours, they were already covering up for something. By their process, an alignment check would not take 2 hours. They do not put the car on the rack to do an alignment check. Ask me how I know.

Why the fuck would they even put a car on a lift to change the battery unless its a shitty Dodge like a Stratus?

This is why I fucking hate the majority of shops… mainly the chains. You bring you car in their and they always try to fuck you.

i think the stratus has attained the mazda 626 status as disposable

fyi… this is where the battery is in a mini…

does he realize that advanced, auto zone, pep boys all install batteries for free

Thats why I only get my vehicles inspected at local shops and never a chain.

Theres a few good shops around here that dont fuck people over but several do, as Ive learned the hard way with a few of them.

damn, theres no reason for that car to have gone anywhere near a lift then.

I would never go to someone that I don’t know personally… I went to midas for an inspection once and they gave me a 1300 bill to do all this random bullshit, fucking ridiculous.

I took my parents old Caravan to Denooyer Dodge for rear brakes one time and they wrote up a $1500 estimate for service.

The van was only a few years old with about 30k and didnt need any of that shit so I refused it. They got my dumbass father the next time he went though.
