Senators to [Facebook co-founder] Saverin: Don't come back... Ever.

Ok

Unless he flew on a jet and helicopter his entire life from a remote 1 house island he…

Still drove on public roads, enjoyed public works projects such as bridges, had protection of police and fire, used town sewadge, filled his tank with gas and 10% subsidized ethanol etc. Thats not even getting into the fact that there are thousands of big business that are subsidized in some way shape or form by the government.

This guy is a trator who doesn’t want to he here and denounced his citizenship. Good riddance, we don’t want him back either.

If he really didn’t enjoy anything here or be of any use here, why would he need to be back anyway?

Illegal immigrants use all of those public works every day, and they’re still allowed to stay here, when they were never citizens in the first place.

A traitor? How? It’s not like he sold government secrets. If you consider him leaving the country to live in another, for legal purposes, being a traitor, then you may need to update your definition of the word.

Wow I agree with vlad !!!did u take some meds or suttin ? Or r u one of the imports that appreciates it here lol

what about when people move to other states to avoid the higher NYS taxes?

No one here can actually prove why he is no longer a US citizen. We can speculate all we want.

Here are some facts though:

-He moved to Singapore in 2009. Three years ago.
-He renounced his citizenship in September 2011, not last month like many people think. The only reason we know that he even did so was because of Facebook’s IPO and that people looked into it all. So he renounced his citizenship BEFORE Facebook even announced they’d be going public.
-Facebook started selling at $38 a share. It is now (as of 12:43pm today) selling at $26.80. So it’s dropped around 30% since it started, and if he does not sell that stock, any gains/losses will be unrealized meaning he doesn’t have to pay taxes on them.
-The law in question has been around since 1996, and has not been enforced ONCE. Jack Reed (who authored the original law) sent a letter to DHS Secretary asking for them to enforce it specifically on Eduardo Saverin (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/17/eduardo-saverin-homeland-security_n_1526018.html).

So essentially: If it wasn’t for the media, we wouldn’t even give a shit about this issue, the Zimmerman issue, and 90% of the other “issues” out there today.

He is not the first guy not paying taxes and won’t be the last. Not paying you share of taxes have many different levels, he is just on one extreme end of the spectrum. Most to a certain level did not pay their fair share, like unless you actually report every single online purchases on your 1040…:rofl; but those are the little stuff. iirc people HERE brag about not having to a penny in income taxes because they have someone pay them in cash only on their day job or something…

I am SURE Romeny will do something about taxing the rich if you vote for him…:rofl

The government just wants their piece of the pie. They don’t care about individual states.

Im saying leaving a state for taxes is the same as leaving the country.

Thank you!

I wouldn’t give a shit about this issue unless you posted it on a discussion forum I frequent. You aren’t the media last I checked.

Illigal immigrants are deported daily, we just cant cant catch them all. How is that even relevant?

I don’t care why the guy wants to leave, taxes or family, or he likes the weather. If he denounces his citizenship then duck him.

For the record I’m trying to denounce my Russian citizenship and it’s not easy to do. And if and once I do, believe me I don’t expect them to treat me nicely. You know why? Because it’s traitor like.

You seem quite concerned by this issue Cossey. Thinking of moving?

There’s also illegal immigrants that are allowed to stay here, and ones who our government (us) pay to keep in jails across the country. They’re not being deported, why?

This isn’t Russia, Vlad. It’s America. A country founded by immigrants.

I’m not thinking of moving at all, I just find the whole thing bullshit and goes under the “guilty until proven innocent” matter which is not what this country is supposed to be about. Unless the government can 100% prove without a doubt that he is leaving for tax purposes, then he should be allowed in and out of the country (as long as he has a visa and what not) as he pleases like so many other people are.

The only reason this “issue” was looked at was because of the media attention surrounding the Facebook IPO. If it wasn’t for that, none of us here would’ve even known he renounced his US citizenship.

Innocent until proven guilty in regard to tax law?:rofl Since you don’t understand why that’s retarded, I wouldn’t expect you to understand this whole situation.

I’m sorry I’m not a tax law specialist?

You’ve never paid taxes?

also,

/thread

It hasn’t been innocent untill proven guilty for many many yrs . So why now is it a issue ?

America is founded by people immigrants coming here. Not leaving here.

Even if the illegals are in jail reason is they want to here and work.

Businesses love illegals. If they didn’t they wouldn’t be hired.

This guy doesnt work, all he is is a paycheck for the government. He has to pay to have the right to enjoy anything this country provides especially if he doesn’t work.

He doesn’t want to work, doesn’t want to pay and doesn’t want to be a citizen.

Fuck him. Good riddance. Don’t come back.

I pay taxes and have no problem with it. It’s one of our duties as Americans to pay taxes. I just wish we had a say in where that tax money goes.

It’s always been an issue, there’s just more ears and eyes out there looking for when it takes palce.

What about the hoodlums out there working under the table, or not at all, collecting government welfare checks? They’re not paying for the right to enjoy anything this country provides.

Also, like I said before, if he does not sell his stock in Facebook, his gains/losses will not be realized and he doesn’t have to pay taxes on them.

It’s only noticed on high profile deals . Esp in the crimanal. System
