My front tires were wobbly between 90-100km/h so I decided to get them balanced. I came across this shop browsing other forums. I wanted to balance my front wheels and get my front calipers painted. I decided to visit them on Saturday (but they are open on Sunday…yes, open on Sunday).

It was a little busy - there were a couple guys waiting to get their wheels balanced as well. I got my name put on the list and I was told it would be about an hour before my car would go in. I checked with my gf in terms of timing, and it didn’t work out. Alex offered to keep my name at the top of the list so that when I came back later in the afternoon, I’d be the first one in the shop.

Sure enough, when I came back, my car went in right away. Off came the wheels and on went the caliper paint while he balanced them. He asked if I wanted the back done as well - I decline. He told me he was going to do them anyway for no charge. After about 45mins - I was out the door. It took so long because it was a pain in the ass to get my wheels off - they were extra careful not to scratch my center caps but that certainly shows the level of attention to detail and care.

It was a good experience - service was fast, and most importantly, my tires were balanced. The only thing was that the the “cold setting” on the water cooler wasn’t working (like wtf). So I had to drink room temperature water

What type of tire balancer do they use?

how did your calipers turn out? did they just do the outside of them or do they go around into the inside also?

Dustin you now know where to go

I’m glad it worked out well for you Sam. Post some pics of those calipers, and yeah, what kind of balancing machine do they use? Is it a Hunter DSC 9700 by any chance?

Mark OK Tire in Oakville has one of those

Wow, some good prices.

They do alignments aswell right?

I can’t recall which balancer he was using - I’ve asked him to post some responses here. Keep an eye on this thread and expect a response from Alex shortly.

^^Any idea what alignment pricing would be?

Definitely doesn’t own me… :stuck_out_tongue:

Guys, we use a generic balancer… but I can guarantee you the best balance of your life. It’s made by Snap-On, and does a 100% perfect job every time.

If you have any other questions, let me know.

are the prices above for 1 wheel or all 4?

The prices are for all 4.

How much for an alignment?

I don’t wanna bash on the balancer that you use as I have no personal experience but ever since I got my wheels balanced on a Hunter DSC 9700, I will never use a different balancer. My rims are dented too but they feel perfectly smooth, even at 200kmh.

However, for rims that aren’t dented, I’m pretty sure that your balancing machine is probably more than enough for most.

Btw Benson, I had a very bad experience with OK Tire, I will never go back to one.

those are some nice prices, i’m waitin for any pics on the caliper paint…and the answer on whether they pain the back as well

The calipers are painted on both sides. I had to pop underneath today to verify.

Yes sorry, we paint all around the caliper, and cover everything else up perfectly…

What was the problem mark? you know they all have different owners eh. so if you had a problem at one it has nothing to do with another one

Have to agree with mark on this one. Hunter DSC 9700 are the way to go.
