Shadys Z31 - GlowShift Jigga What?

If you intercool it you can run 93 octane and 10 lbs of boost with the timing retarded a little. Every motor is different just because mine needs 10 degrees retarded timing dose not mean yours will. Trust me 10lbs is way better than 7lbs.

Hahahahah

Nice to see you made it to the fourms dude!

Yeah I kidna figured that, I was talkign to quite a few ppl and some needed to retard the timing somewhat fierce and others like I belive Mike from Z31perf is running 13lbs on a 9:1 and dident even touch the timing

But ill just play it out and hope my motor doesnt blow up in the process, but if it does… forged internals ftw!

One thing to watch out for is i had spark blowout at 7 lbs of boost with stock plug gap. I would re gap your plugs before you put the motor back in just because you are going to have to do it anyway and it will be easier with the motor out

you wouldnt happened to have a red 300zx and live near troy?

nope mine is brownish charcoal gray and i live in bennington vt/ petersburgh ny

my aunt lives in bennington, near computer dr/observatory rd

You need to make a introduction thread with pics
And ive been trying to find this turbo 300zx, he lives in troy, ive seen him a good 15 times and not one time ive had time to chase him down or w/e to see what he has, its the factory turbo model (hood scoop and all) all i hear i a BOV and exhaust.

So… We ripped the bitches heart out today

Acctualy everything dident go to bad, she came out pretty easy after the use of a 4 ft long prybar that steve said “was to big” hahah

Now onto cleaning everything up, replacing things etc

AND THE BITCH IS STILL BLEEDING AHHH SHE WONT DIE!

Yeah the motor came out pretty easy. And yeah a 4ft prybar is srs bzns

So i pulled off the exhaust manifold… Explained why my exhaust sounded like shit, a nice giant crack going around the whole manifold.

Pulled off the valve cover. Was happy to see that there was no sledge buildup, was not to happy to see that everything looked like it was primered black. After a few ideas were thrown around, came to the conclusion that it was soot/ash from unburnt fuel getting mixed in with the oil and then baking onto everything in the heads. My father loved to run 93 in it, but never bothered to know what the compression was, kinda funny considering he used to build racecars ::slight_smile:

There was no buildup of anykind anywhere, and everything looked superclean except for the soot/ash that was baked on over the years, the car has been taking care of its whole life, and it would have to be overheating wayyyyy to much for this to happen and its never acctualy overheated

The camshafts had no scoring on them anywhere that I could see :smile

Pulled off the oilpan as well and everything seems pretty solid, and again no buildup anywhere

Next up is to pull the heads completely off, take some brakecleaner to everything and get it clean and ready for the new cams ;D

sweet man

nice nice nice. keep the pics coming

So I got my cam setup figured out

Paeco Cams

Street/Strip Cam

Should be a pretty snotty cam thats no completely unreasonable on the street

Hopefully ordering at the end of this week

i’ll run ya at the strip in the TDI when this is done. :nod

I honestly probably won’t run it untill I get an LSD

1 wheel peels ftw…oh wait

I can do a brakestand and keep both wheels going, but once i let off the brake its all over

your diff is weird. sometimes it wants to be a vlsd and sometimes its a open diff.

thats call worn out. my car spins both wheels all the time… unless an axle breaks.

No, its called even resistance on both sides when the brakes are applied, soon as i let go, once one brakes loose all power goes to it

under the assumption it has a factory installed viscous coupling, it would be a worn coupling. i dont study those cars so forgive me for not knowing every detail of them. the car has no appeal to me, so i wouldnt try to learn much detail of it.
