i found a lot of info on there, but got caught up with reading and work.
That diet is the basis of the enduction phase of atkins or phase 1 of south beach. Doesn’t sound like it would work but it does. I need to get back on the ball but at my max I was 310 lbs. I was down to 225 and let shit get away and im back to 250. Just need to get a work out plan together.
i was gonna say, my dad does the whole low-carb thing. he lost a ton of weight on it. It comes back easily but as soon as he gets back on it, boom it’s gone.
its not just about low carbs though.
yes during the week you keep your intake 30-50 g’s /day.
then you “carb up” on the weekends.
all the while you keep your intensity during workouts the same.
thats CDK.
Drew is more pushing TDK, taking in small amounts of carbs for energy when you know you wont store them.
i’ll tell you though, you dont really realize how delicious carbs are till you cant eat them. i already miss beer
i hit that wall about 3 years ago…
That’s water weight for the most part. Also you need to gradually ramp back up to carbs otherwise your body spazzes and stores alot of fat.
TKD is something I may try. Take carbs before the gym knowing they will be burnt off right away. The CKD you have wild weight swings after the weekends carb up due to water retention and also you go through a mini induction phase each and every week. It worked but I’m not sure it was the best idea in hindsight.
I was doing a small amount first meal, small amount ore and post workout. I was doing a contest prep style diet and training and went from 190-175 and had veins in my six pack haha. Never been so lean in my life. However I am not going to stop drinking beer so for me a low cal diet that is somewhat healty and good training is the best I can do.
I found this funny

So I’m interested in the TKD diet. I’m also to lazy to read everything that has been linked. Can I get the cliffs?
No cliffs available.
I take this to mean you are not really interested.
nope, it’s not
the problem is that he doesn’t go gradually. He is either full on the diet or full off.
:tif: you shed a lot of water weight when you dont have the carbs to store it.
Nope just lazy.
exactly.
Lazy + Diet = Another failed new years resolution.
LOL
You’re either in or out…no in between and no shortcuts.
Exactly. First day or 2 most will lose 5-10lbs of water weight without carbs. Once out of ketosis that 5-10lbs can come back in a freekin day, it’s wild.
As much as I DO know about keto…I never looked into why carbs force water retention. Anyone versed in the why behind this fact?
What’s with the cock block Geehee?
I was referring to being lazy in regards to not wanting to read. I work out 5 sometimes 6 days a week but have hit a plateau in regards to weight loss.
I have done some reading, correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems thatthe ckd might be easier to follow since I can eat some carbs ie pizza on the weekends? What would you consider eating carb wise before working out on tkd?
not tryin to Cb ya brotato, just sayin you need to do your own research. one lifestyle/diet/choice isnt the winner for everyone.
with CDK yea you can have 24-30 hours of low fat “carb up” time.
with TDK you eat a small serving of complex carbs when you know you wont store them as fat. IE, in the morning, right before a workout, so that you have some energy.
Thanks brohamulus
Man… people take their diet so seriously sometimes. :X
This shit is intense. How can people really live like this?
