This story rings all too familiar. A very good friend of mine restored an old Galaxy 500xl that used to be his grandfathers. He provided the funding and the space for the build, and brought in the help of a ‘friend’ he knew to help with things over his head. Their relationship went south in a hurry.
I guess countless hours in a garage swearing over an old piece of shit will do that to people.
Regardless, as much of an abortion as this build sounds, i’m excited to see it roadworthy. :tup:

the original deal was to get a $120 craftsman abrasive and its mine for doing the work (which at the time was only supposed to be a stock engine + nitrous … way less work then i actually did) you started looking at carbide blade dry cut saws, i said it wouldnt work like 30 times, you bought it anyways, you promptly told me i cant have it…it didnt work. I still dont have a chop saw for all the work i did on the car …
I have the intake of mine that i modded to fit the car, i have the flanges, i have one of the mandrel bends off the garage door track to replace the 5 foot of stainless piping that you never paid for (i was nice enough to not cut your flange off it and return the rest to my father) and the other day i found your oil filter adapter in the basement under the lathe. I was supposed to finish machining it but never did. I have nothing else of yours, i dont need random wiring harnesses or shim kits for a sho. You cant find all this stuff because you were never in the garage helping.
This is the extent of what i have. You can have the oil filter adapter back any time (unless you want to trade the exhaust for the mandrel too) and ill throw in the TB off the intake because im not sure if that was yours or mine.
Also: Remember when the Black A6 project got me so pissed i walked out of Swiderski on a Thursday? When i came back Justin flat out told me that YOU were telling him “If i were you i would fire Nick” I later mentioned this to you in a somewhat vague way and i watched your eyes get really wide. What good friends we were huh ?
Also: Ask Justin how many times you pissed me off while hanging out at the shop. he will probably remember me noting on the calander “camaro” in the sat and sun spots … i did it for like 3 months straight … it was for every time you did something idiotic that pissed me off… and i did it so i would remember not to work on your car that weekend.

Bought everything
installed tubular front suspension
hacked the shit out of the firwall w/ a sawzall after i insisted he had no idea what he was doing and it was going to make a ton more work for me for no reason.
destroyed the first wiring harness for the project leaving me unable to figure out where i could mount stuff like the coils or module.
…but he mostly sat in his room watching TV, or went to the movies w/ megan. or went out to eat.

Today i dropped off the previously mentioned throttle body and oil filter adapter at Swiderski Motorcar so that Justin can pass them along While i was there i had a rather short convo w/ Justin during which the intake manifold came up.
This is the deal I told him: if Alex comes up with a set of BMW K75 / K100 City Bag brackets (either my set that was last seen at swiderski, or a replacement set) I will trade them for the intake manifold.

Honestly though, I’ve known both parties involved quite a while, but have kind of lost touch with both the last couple years due to life in general…but HRK was a MAJOR help back when he helped me build the turbo kit on my last focus (the grey one)…I’m certain the fabrication he has done on this car is bar-none…he’s always been more than willing to help anyone that’s not a total cocksucker. I had always thought of alex as a nice, reserved, decent guy…For HRK to be this pissed, SOMETHING had to go very wrong between the two of them, but I still think it shouldn’t be aired out here in this build thread.

I saw him in the gold bimmer, but didnt notice him trying to wave me down as i was just heading over to adams st for work. Ill drop the intake off tomorrow if i have the chance.
he will not be there on sunday. you are better off sometime during the week. he might be there for a while today but you would be best off calling so you don’t waste a trip
