I picked up a A1000 fuel pump and regulator so I will make it a point to take measurements and order all the shit I need to order to install that monster
get her done
Today’s work
oil cooler bracket installed
oil cooler (transmission) added
oil cooler (engine) added
oil filters added
got bored so I threw this in just to add some bling even though the intake is not there to attach it to
Installed the first of 4 charge pipes. I was going to install all but the final one and I found out that they were not all painted. So I sprayed and cleared them and they are drying for a couple days.
The days of cracking my head on this are over!!!
I spent a bunch of time running around trying to locate bolts and ended up ordering them from mcmaster.com because they are crazy expensive locally. I am at a stand still till I get those bolts. I also made a shopping list on summit racing so I can start running hoses all over the place. Those AN fitting add up quick! There is still a bunch of stuff missing for the fuel system but I will deal with that tomorrow hopefully.
Thought of this thread when I watched this:
If you bought those fittings at Summit, you paid WAY too much.
Give us a parts list, for your wallet’s sake.
You got a price list for AN fittings? I’ve found summit to be fairly reasonable but extra convenient when it comes to fittings…
Also, don’t buy those shitty twist-tite ones.
I added three attachments to show that my car survived the fire but i cant seem to get my phone tl work with me to link them here. The smoke/soot will all wash off but there does not seem to be any heat damage to the car that is worth noting. The driver mirror glass broke when a rafter landed on the car but since there was no windshield i didnt have to worry about that breaking. I definitely lost some of my small parts but most of the big expensive stuff was saved saved. There is a tremendous amount of ice on the car from the roof leaking on ot all night but once that melts off i should be fine. My only fear with the water is that i may have lost my gauge cluster.
U need any parts ? I have a lot of shit for them .
Closest this car will ever come to having its tires burnt off.
In leu of your latest purchase, bump.
What ever happened to this @somedude

this is boviously a pic from winter. but the car still is in the same condition less the ice. I pushed it out of the garage to remove everything from the garage and clean all my tools and tool box from the fire. The car is the next thing that is going to be cleaned. Hopefully I can do something on it this weekend. I need to empty the inside out of all the parts and take invintory of what is missing. The project is not forgotten but I am not very motivated on this especially after the fire.
Shortly after I posted the last update the car was involved in a building fire. I lost motivation to work on the car for about a year. The SHO community was not thrilled with this so with some motivation and help I pushed the car out and began the tedious task of cleaning the car, as well as pulling everything from the interior that was thrown in after the fire.
spark plugs were installed so even though the spark plug tubes were full of water the engine was not filled with water. I went through things quickly and The engine and trans should be fine other than being extremely dirty. The car did not suffer any heat damage so other than a rafter landing on the car which broke a mirror and scratched the front fenders pretty good there is no damage.
Where am I at now? I need to re install the fuel tank and get it set up for my A1000 fuel pump. Is there a sending unit designed for the tank/pump or is it a custom setup? If it is custom do you guys have any pointers?
Any progress is progress
Cleaned up good if the sides looked the same.
the driver side looked worse than the pass side. The car feels like 200 grit paper and will take a lot of TLC to get the paint shining again, but at least I can work on it without destroying my clothes now.
I usually run 2 or 3 walboro 255 pumps in tank for fbods
I already have an A1000 and controller for it. Is it going to be easier or more cost effective to run a dual or tripple 255 setup? I am not sure how to adapt the stock sending unit to the size fuel line that the A1000 uses.
600-700whp certainly does not call for a A1000, but I already have one.
