I was on KDKA.com and saw this story. I guess reporters are using slang now?

BATON ROUGE, La. (CBS) ― A woman opened fire in a classroom and killed two other women at Louisiana Technical College, police said.
Police started to get calls about the shooting at around 8:30 am Friday morning. They were on the scene within minutes.
At a press conference, police said the shooting was confined to one classroom. The shooter apparently killed herself after blasting the other two women.
All three were dead at the scene.
Police said the classroom was full at the time and they will be interviewing witnesses. All the other students in the classroom were safely evacuated.

Do you have something against KDKA?
Last time I checked, “blasting” isn’t slang.

v. tr.

- To play or sound loudly: The referees blasted their whistles.
-
- To hit with great force: The batter blasted the ball to right field.
2. To kill or destroy by hitting or shooting.
- To have a harmful or destructive effect on.
- To cause to shrivel, wither, or mature imperfectly by or as if by blast or blight: crops that were blasted by frost.
- To make or open by or as if by explosion: blast a tunnel through the mountains.
- To criticize or attack vigorously.
No, I don’t have anything against KDKA, I just thought the choice of words was interesting for a new station. I actually only use KDKA to see what is going on.
Eh, it might not be slang, but it doesn’t sound or read very well. I think they would be better off using a more defined term.
Then again, who the hell cares on Pittspeed?
atleast they didn’t say “they got their caps peeled”
