Okay so the I blew up the motor in my Integra a month ago. And Im thinking about what kind of build I want to do to it. I really would like to do a turbo build on it, but Im not too sure if I should. Thats why I wanted to get some opinions.
If I do a turbo build, then Im gonna have to ditch the b20 and get a LS block or even a gsr motor. My goal would be to build it for 350-400whp or more even. So I may have to build the block in that case. The only problem is that if I do swap it and boost it, then I would have to take out a loan in order to pay for everything. Should I take out a loan for that or not??
If I dont go the turbo route, then I would probably just have my head rebuilt and continue to run it N/A.
So I just wanted to hear some other honest opinions on what I should do. Thanks for the input.
if you can afford a loan payment with no problems then i say go for it… but if its gonna be close… keep your priorities straight and just save up to do the build… its only the beginning of winter you have plenty of time to save up.
What happens if you blow up the car again, and you have a loan payment on parts? It’s one thing to have a loan payment on a blown up car, but to be paying for the parts that are on the car, and for that matter parts that were probably the cause of the car blowing up… something just doesn’t seem right there…
whichever route you go dont cheap out on the important stuff. if you can’t afford to do it right then dont do it because it will cost you more in the long run, and you wont have a proper safe running car.
do you have an idea of what parts you wanted to run, with a breakdown of cost for the build.
What I was thinking about doing was maybe just swap in a stock gsr and do one of your ramhorn kits. If I do go that route the car wont really be my dd anymore. But I know that if I do it I want do it right the first time. I figure like 350whp is more than enough for a street car.
