Why? He has a built N/A B20 vtec in there now. Just rebuild that.

what’s the damage, just bent valves ect. from a t-belt breaking? you can find a gsr motor pretty cheap, might just be easier to go that route if he wants to build a gsr motor eventually anyways.

I thought of that, but if I were to leave it n/a then it would be slower than it was with the b20 and for the price of the gsr swap I could just rebuild my head.

Don’t take a loan out. If you do you’ll love what you did with the money for a couple months and then hate making the payment.

Im not exactly sure whats wrong with it yet. I haven’t had much time to get over to the garage and do a compression test on it. But my guess is that it has a burnt valve. I just figured that this would be the perfect time to make this car my “own” build. But Im prob better off just having the head rebuilt and going from there. I do appreciate all of your opinions.

itll most likely be a lot more reliable if u fix it and keep it as is. if u add a turbo, theres gnna be so much more to keep in mind when building and if something seems not right. ya know?

Ask Globe on here. Never had any problem with his stock block boosted vehicles. He had a good tune that kept him safe

Yeah I deff want to look into getting a retune with neptune anyways just to be on the safe side.

Even if you were to throw a b16, b18c1, etc…you could boost and just shoot for the 300 whp mark…with the right tune which synapse will give, youll be good to go. I am sure you could get more out of it as well

Keep it NA when i blew up my b16 2 years ago … i had the option to build it for boost or keep it na … but i opted to keep it na and not go into more debt …it would have been about $6k for my turbo setup …instead i didnt get that loan and paid out of my own pocket to have brooks build it was 1/4 the price and im happy with it
