So my signals just stopped working. All 4 wont work, but they will flash when i put on my 4 ways. I checked all fuses and what not, so im thinking the relay that makes the signals blink. Anyone know where this is? Or any other ideas as to what the problem might be?
My buddy had the same problem after his swap. Currently he has all his wiring put together so his normal and high beams are always on for some god forsaken reason. But at one point he found a few faulty wires where it inhibited him from being able to use his signals. But his 4 ways didnt work either. Im pretty sure the fuse runs for both of those cases, so it must be the wiring from your turning signal thats fucked. We had to replace several but that was for the hazards aswell.
God i hope is isnt wiring, that would suck the life right out of me. Any other ideas?
Disregard the stopping one… assuming your brake lights work.
did u change the bulbs? check bulbs?
He said they flash when his 4 ways are on, so we can rule out bulbs.
Usually, cars will have two flashers. One for the 4 ways, and one for both right and left. If they turn on but don’t flash (or in some cars may not turn on at all) the flasher is the likely culprit.
i looked into it today and found that it is most likely the flasher itself. I was talking to a mechanic/friend and he’s saying it could possibly be pinched/damaged wire going to the signal lights and it could be because its an older vehicle. Because flashers and hazards are seperately wired to the lights. So most cases its probably very close to the actual flasher stick (dont know a proper name lol). And besides that he was stumped. And wiring does suck. Ill ask around other places if i think about it when im there. Or just do the same if you are around a mechanic and see if they are nice enough to insight you with an opinion.
Flasher sounds like it might be the culprit. Thats gonna be the first thing to be checked.
