My grandmother gave me a sable when I was 16, and I’m almost positive there was a tax on that. Maybe immediate family gifts don’t hold a sales tax?
I would just write the bill of sale out for $100. Pay $8.25 for the tax, bring proof of insurance, fill the title out correctly, and you are all set.
