This is a quick run-down of the Gen-4 Conversion we offer called the VS-X700. Tom’s package is a fully outfitted VS-X700 running the “torque” version Camshaft, Gen-4 Coil On Plug conversion, Gen-4 Oil Pan Upgrade, Ported Manifold, Billet Fuel Rails, and a full appearance package from top to bottom. I think this package thoroughly illustrates the direction that VSP is heading, in many ways.
Before anyone asks, these are NOT Mopar packages- these are our version of the conversion package, with our engineered components, and are far more thoroughly integrated with much more to offer option wise, and offer far more from an aesthetic standpoint.
I cant see enough in the pics to tell, but is this taking the first body style viper and upgrading the motor to be more like the second gen (body style)?
LOL. Dude, 95% of what you see in that engine compartment isn’t supposed to be there? Those heads aren’t even for that engine, that is a 1-off manifold and throttle body design for the package that we have to manufacture, a one-off fuel system, full appearance package from top to bottom, all new wiring harness and coil driver configuration that required taking the PCM apart and fundamentally changing it, full headers/exhaust, oil system modifications… If that doesn’t count as a build, then what does? Your comment makes it sound like we threw in a K&N filter and called it a day. I think you need to look a tad closer, because you are missing the point of what we did on this one.

No, that would be a Gen-2 to Gen-4 conversion. This is a Gen-3 to Gen-4. Gen-3 and Gen-4 use the same chassis/body, but different drivetrains.
dont get me wrong its awesome stuff. very high quality work, i just see this as custom modifications to the engine. now if there was alot of other work done on the car, or with large amounts of cutting, grinding, welding, etc then i would see it as a build.
sorry but just my opinion. but im also building a hotrod from the ground up with homemade frame and everything. that is a “build”. right now i have a circle track racecar in my garage that im rebuilding, and have recently been recruited to help a local race car builder with his cars. these start out as a bar chassis, have an entire cage built, frames boxed in, rear section backhalfed, entire interior shaped and built, all mounting and bumpers built, then the body is extensively trimmed and fitted. those are “builds”.
meh. i stand behind my opinion. as i said he does awesome work and the quality is top notch. i just dont see it as being a “build”. its just a conversion which i see as custom/modified. if there were changes to the rest of the car maybe then it would be a “build”
