I’m hoping for around 220/185 at the wheels once I’m tuned. This is getting a middle of the road header, if I win the lotto and spring for a $1400 HyTech I’d be hopin for around 230. To get any more than that I’d need to break open the block and start messing with pistons and rods, which as I explained before is no fun (unless I can find an F23 block for next to nothing :tong). Unlike you K-Series people I can’t make 230-240 on bolt ons and a tune.
;D :tong lol, well i hope you make those numbers your shooting for, that’ll be sick :nod
I hope so too. :lol
Side note: I know your dad knows people, so keep an eye out for an F23 block, I’ve always wanted to do an H23-Vtec (maybe H24 if I bore it enough).
How come H23 Vtec isn’t so common?
In principle it should be similar to an LS-Vtec setup, no?
I know someone that has one, its an H2B H23 bluetop in a civic hatch, used to be in his dc2 but that has a K24 in it :nod
The H23 Blue top is the OEM H23VTEC. I’m talking about taking an F23 block with its 97mm crank (and iron sleeves, which means I can cheaply run whatever pistons I want) and putting an H22 head on it.
Vlad, it is similar to an LS-Vtec, but not as common, yet. The main reason why it’s not common is because untill just a few years ago almost no one even looked at the F-Series blocks. You could swap an H22 head onto an H23 block (pretty much what honda did with the blue top), but H23s still had the FRM sleeves that pistons hate. People didn’t see much of a point, you lost compression but increased stroke if you left the block stock. With an F block you can swap in new pistons with no problems and increase both stroke and compression. Because of how similar the F and H blocks are, building an H23Vtec is incredibly easy to do. Plug some oil drains, use the H22 waterpump gear and fuse the two water pipes together, thats pretty much it. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but don’t really have the resources to do just yet.
K-20, he wouldn’t want to part ways with his blue valvecover would he? (provided its in good shape) I pay in beer or cash.
oooo the blue teggy with custom paintz job ehh?
Well The 5 Lug conversion is Pretty much done.
Did the Back wheels on Tuesday.

Lookin good, are you in the autobody program at HVCC?
Anyone know where I could get the wheels resurfaced and polished professionally? I love the look of em but there are some deep scratches in a few places.
