Which way are they suppossed to be installed? I have seen them installed both ways.

I dont see how they can be “installed” 2 different ways …but only have 2 different types of slotting such as clockwise and counter.

they could be both going the same direction as in the pictures one is being installed in the front and the other in a rear of a vehicle …

Generally speaking slotted rotors are supposed to be installed THIS way –>

But what is more important is whether the rotor has directional vanes or not. The direction of rotation is much more relevant to vane direction. If you don’t have directional vanes then for all intents and purposes it doesn’t matter which way you mount them.

the power slots that i got said left and right on them so i installd the left one on the left side…and the right one on the right side.

that doesnt make sense… you’d think u would mount the helix of the slots in the direction of rotation…(but now that i see that picture is of a rear brake so yes…these two pictures might confuse ppl…but are both correct…the first is a rear brake and the second is a front brake…just make sure the helix of the slots are rotating the same directon the wheels…

I would think the Higher quality slotted rotors would have a left and right side, E bay brand…Probably wouldnt .

I don’t know what you are referring to as a “helix”, but what I was trying to convey was the outer edge of the slot is supposed to be the “leading edge” that hits the pad first, not the innermost edge.

(For both pictures shown I was assuming both were representing the right side of the car, with the caliper facing the front of the vehicle. And that’s why I was saying the top picture looked correct.)

The curve is supposed to go “into” the caliper sort to speak(first picture posted)

i dint know when i got mine… but i looked in every magazine i had and in all of them the slots always faced the front end of the car

Yours is correct. Nice color on the 300’s! I did the same thing
