So our sales guy is leasing a new MB E350 4matic after being a multiple Jeep Wrangler guy for the last 10 years. So of course he thinks his new car is the fastest thing ever because he’s been driving the slowest thing ever for a decade. I’m sitting here trying to ignore his story of “being on the 90 and hitting the sport button, and how it makes the car so much faster, and how it will take any car from 60 to 120” blah blah. Then he goes “your GTO is just a muscle car, it’s only good off the line, I’m sure I could take it on the highway too”.

I know my stock car isn’t fast compared to a lot of modded cars on here, but for stock, it moves pretty good. It sure as hell moves better than a 4000lb 268hp Mercedes. I just laughed, and told him to pick what ever speed to what ever speed he wanted, put down $500, and we’d race. I’d even go to the ATM right now and we could do it on lunch. I honestly thought he was going to go for it he was so high on the MB coolaid until my idiot friend Jake (who knows cars) starts talking sense into him. He goes, you’re car is heavier and is giving up 130 hp and 150 ft/lbs of torque… I really want in on this bet if it happens.

So he backed out, and hopefully dials down the “this is the fastest car ever” now that I called him on it.

They are the absolute best. I’m lucky enough to have both office personel and floor workers to listen to. One group swears up and down an '08 Saab is God’s gift to internal-combustiondom, and the other’s '95 Accord revs at me any time I roll into the lot. :tup:

there is a kid that was just hired where i work that told me he had a turbo civic that he crashed racing a gti. i started asking him all kids of specific questions (single cam? dohc? kit or did you piece it together? what’d you use for managment? ect) and his answer always was “idk, i bought it like that”
