But I guess that is one of the few benefits to working in Southeast Michigan.

I usually just ask non-car people some random question about something way over their head and let them give me the “whaaa…wait…huh?” look. I do it all the time with my students with they ask me dumb questions.
the people at my work are pretty much the same. Kid that works in detail has a 2010 camaro SS and he thinks its the fastest car ever. He mentions everyday how it’s definitly right behind supercars as far as speed and he would put it up against anything.
So the one day i replied to him with “Dude It runs low 13’s” He was like huh? it has 450 hp.
On payday a few weeks ago i brought back 1k cash and asked if he would put it against my car? Nobody here knows anything about it and the outside is sofa king beat that they all think its the worst car in the world. He had no reply and hasn’t said a word to me since
you’re car prob would of broken down during the race and he would of won hehe 
i really like arguing with people about cars on facebook lol, so many great conversations as of late. Plus everyone gets to see them!
i only needed my car to hold boost for a few minutes and actually shift clean 1-4 and i figured i could win lol. It was worth the gamble. I figured even if i did get a lockout or something i would still win lol. I <3 Burch tuning. 10k miles on my car and i still have not had to do anything but maintain the fucker.

I was at the Motorama looking at the 5000 mile Buick GNX when this “car guy” comes up and starts telling me all of the differences between it and the regular Grand National. He’s telling me that they put the 4.3 motor in it and 4.10’s, etc, etc, and I just looked at him and said “yep, they run good!”. I don’t even bother trying to correct people, i’d be there all day.
a bunch people at my office give me crap because they think I’ve spent like $100k because I have 3 german cars. they might have MSRP’d around that but they worth less than $30k total on a good day.
nothing worse than someone who can’t accept they are wrong. I know an older car guy that will argue with scienific fact, and the entire automotive world.
Even if he has never owned the car ever, if every single member of the community has done something to thier car, and he dosent agree they are all wrong and there is no possible way they could have done it.
I would pay money for someone to humble him in public. Same guy who said 9 second 1/8 miles are respectable and not slow. Same guy who just spent time aruging that a higher stal converter dosent effect how a car leaves the line. That leaving at 1200 rpm, is just as fast as leaving at 3000 rpm plus, with perfect traction.
I can go on for days, about the stupid shit that comes out of this guys mouth, and when you show him something infront of his face, he still argues with it.
Pictures are wrong, facts are wrong everyone is wrong, except him, and when you try to tell him something you get “thats news to me”.

god damn it wranglers are so slow. i floor it every time i’m on an on-ramp from 2nd - 4th and only get up to 50-55. i see why he thinks it’s so fast, but he is still a homo.
