So how about them wacky North Koreans...

You guys realize that we fought NK 60 years ago and didn’t win right? And that was only with Chinese military support, no help from Russia? Don’t be so quick to scorn a war with NK as a quick bombing costing virtually zero American resources and lives. The first Korean war was really a war with China, fought on Korean soil. If we did it again would it be a war with China and Russia this time? Last time Russa stayed out because they weren’t supporters of the new People’s Republic of China that had just won a civil war. That situation is no longer at hand.

It’s this kind of lackadaisical attitude towards war that fucked us a decade ago. I say if NK invades SK we agree with China and Russia to let them sort out their differences themselves. We only intervened last time because it had only been a decade since WWII and communist countries were still in imperial expansion mode.

On Saturday, 24 June 1950, U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson informed President Truman by telephone, “Mr. President, I have very serious news. The North Koreans have invaded South Korea.”[109][110] Truman and Acheson discussed a U.S. invasion response with defense department principals, who agreed that the United States was obligated to repel military aggression, paralleling it with Adolf Hitler’s aggressions in the 1930s, and said that the mistake of appeasement must not be repeated.[111] In his autobiography, President Truman acknowledged that fighting the invasion was essential to the American goal of the global containment of communism as outlined in the National Security Council Report 68 (NSC-68) (declassified in 1975):

Communism was acting in Korea, just as Hitler, Mussolini and the Japanese had ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall Communist leaders would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores. If the Communists were permitted to force their way into the Republic of Korea without opposition from the free world, no small nation would have the courage to resist threat and aggression by stronger Communist neighbors.

That was then. Why do we care about NK now?

Thanks Fry for expanding on my vague link

lol looks like we’re on the same page.

My grandfather fought in the Korean War, he’s got some fucked up stories. War is no joke.

Bingo. NK is that tiny little annoying shithead on the school bus that no one gives a beatdown to because his big brother is huge and kinda protective.

My next door neighbor is a Korean War vet.

Hey remember that time we quickly beat Vietnam and Afghanistan

While most of their population lives in huts and we have all kinds of technology

I’m just saying that this little prick is being a baby. Understandably war is SHIT. But it’d be nice to just push him down the stairs and make him cry without consequences, but I know very well that isn’t the situation we’re in.

Do you realize that link neither rebuts BED or strengthens your point?

What do you mean? Look at all the police forces with armored vehicles.

The US has a contract for these things anyways it makes sense.

Maybe you’re not aware of how government purchasing and contracts work??

You should probably be bitching about why the NYPD keeps trying to buy .50 cal rifles and every vendor turns them down

Not to mention the original argument was flawed since DHS has something like 20 and if there are 2700+ sitting somewhere odd nobody has a picture

It’s odd you conspiracy people cling to random bullshit and never make mention of NSA wiretapping all major telecoms or the FBI trying to get instant access to Gmail…What about the CIA trying to have access to all financial transactions lol.

BUT OMG 7000 AR15s

When the private citizens in the US have 6 million+

What I mean is that the link Jay posted neither proves his point or weakens BED’s.

These arguments are based on Facebook followings. DUH! Just click share…

This country is still reeling cost-wise from Iraq and Afghanistan. It’d be in China’s best interests to let us battle NK again - in the world of global economies they wouldn’t dare fight us outright, not while they own a huge chunk of American debt.

They’d be content to stock NK with arms or even just intel or strategic resources and let us spend ourselves into oblivion. They know the American public would soon tire of yet another war and we’d pull out, in economic shambles, at the peak of their industrial resurgence. Russia’d be clapping, too.

Whats the real fear here?

7000 guns?

However many trucks?

These things are nothing more then objects with out people.

So whats the real fear? DHS is coming to declare martial law?

That’s what an email told me so it must be true.

7000 AR’s vs 200 million privately owned firearms in the US. Good luck DHS.

The US Senate just stopped the UN Arms Treaty so im trying to figure out what the DHS angle is

They barely stopped that…

I wouldn’t call it that close democrats have the majority and it still went 53-46

Yes, you are right. Everyone of those dems who voted to pass it should be questioned as to who they are representing in our government…

So the UN is in on the DHS plot to take over control of the US through declaration of martial law and taking away the guns citizens would need to revolt? The United Nations… those pussy’s who won’t even inspect Iran for nukes want to destabilize a nuclear powerhouse?

If you’re mad at DHS you should probably be bitching about the militarization of our police force.

I feel safer when every police officer in the US has full military gear including body armor and AR15s with backwards Eotechs  and this was in response to that shooter in the middle of no where NY.
