In June, I sold my Twin Turbo GT to 1slowpony and set off on a mission to find my dream car.
I found it in Albany, NY. A beautiful 2011 Kona Blue Shelby GT500, 20k on it, full exhaust, tune, pulley, 635whp right in my price range.
45 Days later they still could not get the car to pass NYS inspection so I opted to get my deposit back and continue the search.
As fate would have it, I was poking around CL and say a 2014 GT 500 local for sale for a STEAL.
I thought too good to be true, sent an email any way and crossed my fingers.
6 hours later, I get a message back saying the car was available, I was first in line and I could look at the car the next morning.
Next Morning, I meet a very nice man, retired attorney, who showed me his prized possession. He was on the fence about selling it and had already removed the ad from CL. He said that if I didn’t want it, he was going to keep it.
Test drove the car about a week ago, fell in love with it. After the test drive he said he is having 2nd thoughts about selling. I figured, here we go again, the search will continue. A few hours later, I get a message saying that I am the right owner for the car and he hopes that I will give it a great home and take care of it. I said DEAL!
This afternoon, we finalized the deal, I wrote a check and I have not stopped smiling since. Its dirty, because of course when you buy your dream car in Buffalo NY, it has to rain.
