So I took the shop car to the drags last night...

Specs:
2002 Audi Allroad Quattro 6-spd.
4300 pounds with me in it
Mod list is modest: performance flash, aluminum diverter valves, filter, modded downpipes (still have a pair of cats)

Best run of the night:
2.06 60ft.
9.21@78

Not horrible for the family hauler.

You need to go on a diet. :spank:

X…

Oh sure, you get all slimmed down, and start hacking on the still-fat guys

How’d the CM clutch work out with the launches?

Actually, I’ve got a Southbend Stage II, and it held up damn well. No slip, no acrid smell, it just worked. I was somewhat surprised really.

damn I was gonna go but got lazy.
I thouhgt you said that thing was fast? LOL

Nice Jason, not bad for the daily.

2.0 60ft :uhh: but good job on getting out!

What was your opinion of them, I was originally going to get my clutch from them but no BMW guys had any real experience with Southbend. I really think a Stage 4 clutchmaster is too much for daily driving in stop and go traffic and might be looking to change again. FML

A lot of weight, and I’m trying to avoid putting REAL money into the car in the way of a $3000 transmission. So, reasonably soft 2500 launch.

LOVE Southbend. I’ve put Stage III kits in S4’s and you’d never know it wasn’t stock. I hear the same of their stage IV’s. Solid people to work with also,

Jason, you let me know when your ready to get the diet and perhaps your workouts on… ill train ya and set ya up on a realistic diet for you to follow… after all you took such good care of my tt i owe ya… let me know offer is always on the table…Fred

btw… my downpipe has a crack in it lol what do ya reccomend… lol

You know, I may jsut take you up on that offer!

I thought we did a DP in your car, no? 42 draft designs?
Give me a call later today, and I’ll look it up.

How is their customer relations, like when the company forgets to send the alignment tool are they going to fight you about it or would they actually send it to you. The place I bought my clutch from had the box break open during shipment and the tool fell out, and they couldn’t have cared less. Southbend Clutch’s website just didn’t give me too warm of a feeling, its slightly bootleg.

I’ve never had any sort of problem with them. However, yes, I totally agree that their site…or the dxdracingclutches site is poor at best. Often times, it’s best just to call and speak directly with Andy.

 will do that

where are you working now? hadn’t heard where you got a gig after leaving the last gym. both us fat boys @ BFMS need to get back on the wagon.

you guys can come hang out at golds on french and transit anytime… i think im gonna setup a corp deal with my comp for nypeed folks to get a dirt cheap membership…and youll be able to use both clubs too, but if i recall you live out towards op, right? so youll prob be using my place… but either way ill take care of ya for sure

i know someone running one behind their 335 and they love it. Amazing guys to work with and pretty straightforward to boot.

search the FI section of bimmerforums. guys are welding the discs to there flywheels on a daily basis it appears. I would not run a southbend if i had intent to drag race.
