so kramerbuccs24 says he'll run 14.0 on the 30th

:rofl

wow

i dont want to quote all the things you said, i saw claims of a 14.2@100mph with an intake only, with all these 60ft times… well young lad, you do realize that when the 60ft time drops, your final MPH will drop as well in most situations. if you want to go from a 14.5 with a 2.2-2.3 60ft currently to a 14.0-14.1, youre gonna need 20-30whp more atleast and/or 2.0-2.1 60ft.

for reference my car went from a 14.6@104 with a 2.7x 60ft to a 14.0@105 with a 2.48. do you follow? the reason i picked up MPH was it was a 3-4 hour time difference between runs so the air temp/track temp changed, car cooled down… same 14psi

Everyone here including me is completely benchracing on this whole subject. Can we postpone all arguments until I run the car on the 30th?

In case anyone isn’t clear, my best case AKA the best I can get AKA not guaranteeing I’m going to get these numbers are:

14.2xx @98.5-99mph with a 2.20 60ft.

REALISITCALLY
14.3xx-14.45 @ 98mph with a 2.30 60ft.

16-18psi in the tires helps.

i do all my runs at 35psi… probably not a good idea… but once i mount slicks… 8psi

I ran 18psi in my tires to get the time in my sig with a 2.32 60ft, I’ve been asking for tips from other Alti SER guys and they said 21-24 psi was the best range to be in, I’m going to try there on Wed.

Also, I left traction control on for all of my runs on Jun 12th or whatever, the other SER guys highly recommended turning it off, so I’m going to be trying that too.

Why are you making your car an auto cross car all of a sudden? its fast in a straight line why not make it faster?

i wouldnt call 14’s a fast car

Because autoX is a trillion times more fun than straight line drag racing. I just confirmed that at the July 20th autoX. With a decent amount of suspension/brake modifications and if my driving improves as it has been I could be fairly competitive in the STX class that I’m currently in. I’ll stay in the STX class as long as I don’t turbocharge, supercharge or swap my engine, so I’m not moving out of that class, ever.

If you’re really interested, you can read this http://moutons.org/sccasolo/Rules/street_touring.html#17.11.%20STR and see that I’m already fairly well established in the STX class, like I have the widest/stickiest tires allowed, and all suspension/engine modifications that I will do will keep me in the STX class.

Bobby, mid 14’s are not fast. Please stop calling it fast. Comments like that are what get me into trouble from assclowns like chuck in the first place.

Fast?

Good post. A lot of people don’t understand this.

Picking up MPH in a NA car is not really easy especially just based on driving.

Thats true. I’ve been doing more research since I made the 14.2 @100 claim and I’ve realized that. I’m still learning

I went from a 12.6@112, to a 11.82@112 changing my converter alone(lower 60’). So that calculation doesnt always work…

And you drive what again?

hahahaha

:idiots :nuts

i agree with adam lol

It doesn’t because trap is affected by many things but generally it seems to have a lower affect on the trap.
