So long GTO

Been having some issues with the GTO lately and decided I needed to trade it now while I could still get some money out of it instead of waiting a year and getting the replacement I really wanted (S5 cabriolet).

Wanted something nice that I could pay cash for the difference on to drive for the next year or two. After driving a couple I really liked the VW CC and found the color combo for the price I wanted in Cleveland. Hopped in the GTO Saturday morning and by late afternoon Saturday was home with the new ride. 2012 VW CC Sport, DSG, 2.0T, white gold with cornsilk interior.

No plans for mods or anything. I’m officially over cars as a hobby. Happy with something that’s comfortable and a little fun to drive while spending my money on other things.

That’s quite the change!

And no, no plans for a trailer hitch. Now that I have something my wife can actually drive all the towing needs will be handled by her CX-9.

Whoa

How was the gto up until recently?

I always loved the interiors on them.

What type of problems did you have with it?

Nice pick up eitherway

I’m digging that interior a lot. Nice pick up dude!

With winter coming the new owner will be all set for hauling his sleds around now.

Damn. Congrats… big change.

 Nice choice. Youll love the DSG, its great for a commuter IMO

Pretty happy with it so far. Only thing I don’t like is how is wants to hold 2nd if you do a rolling stop, making it a dog off the line unless you get on it enough to grab 1st. Sport mode takes care of that but I find it holds gears a lot longer than I want. Guess if I wanted a car that would be in the exact gear I wanted at all times I should have bought another manual.

dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnngraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddeeee

not that there’s anything wrong with that

Does it have flappy paddles? I drive mine a lot in manual mode with the paddles. Once traffic starts to suck I put it in D and relax without having to clutch in 398470398470389 times on the way home. But I have a 22mile commute, not 5 or whatever.

Dan

I did like the CC. For a while they were the only ones made in Germany and could tell the major differences in quality between the Passat and the CC even things like how well the trunk lining was done.

Nope, just a +/- manual mode on the gear selector. Paddles didn’t come until the r-line spec.

well this is unexpected!

ive always liked these. what kind of issues were you having with the gto?

You were having issues with a GTO so you traded it in on a VW??? Dear god man. That’s like saying I was sick of my gonorrhea so I got AIDS.

LMAO at Mr. Krant as always

Get a tune for it at least. I have an APR tune only on my 2.0t A4 and you wouldn’t even know it, behaves like a stock car.
