i was driving home yesterday on the highway when all of the sudden my car just went rediculously loud (in a bad way) and sounded gross, i got home and looked that my o2 housing had came off the back of my turbo with only 2 studs (no bolts) just holding my exhaust still kind of in place, but there was about a half inch gap between which was where all the exhaust was coming out. so i went to try and put a new bolt in, then found out all the bolts except one were snapped off inside the back of my turbo… what the hell do i do now?
Studs snapped off inside? pull of your turbo, take it to someone with a drill press and drill it out… if the threads are damaged put in a helicoil…
k but i’ve never taken or put on a turbo before… so what should i know before during after the turbo removal and when i put it back on
Take it off, get it fixed, put back together making sure the turbo oil lines and coolant lines are bleed is the bad way to say it I guess? just make sure the turbo has got oil before you start it up
