Soccer Referee Decapitated During Game

Just a warning, this will be a little hard to believe. Not for the weak-hearted.
During a soccer game in Brazil, referee, Otavio da Silva, gave player, Josenir Abreu a red card and expelled him from the match. Abreu did not agree with the card and started arguing with Silva. Silva then did the one thing a referee should never do, fight back. They started jawing back and forth and it eventually led to fists being thrown.
Silva then took out a knife on the player and stabbed him. Josenir Abreu died from the wound on his way to the hospital.
Minutes after the stabbing the fans rushed the field and started stoning the ref. The battered and nearly alive Silva was then decapitated. The Brazilian fans took Silva’s head and put it on a stake at midfield.
A riot occurred in the aftermath of the game and was taken to the streets.

Dont mess with Brazilian futbol.

Well the ref who was in charge of the game stabbed a player… kinda drew the line in the sand with that one.

One year when I was in Italy I went to a game with my brother and friends. Once the game was over outside the stadium was mayhem. People were literally flipping cars over and setting them on fire, unreal.

Lol I love this… When you have little to live for in impoverished nations, sport is life, and sometimes sport means death. For anyone who’s into documentaries watch the ESPN 30 For 30 “Two Escobars.” Some moving shit.
