I only got a couple hours in today as I have to work this eve.
Here’s how things looked last week:
Cleaning up the driver’s rear wheel well
A quick coat of primer to check out the imperfections (and with me, there’s always tons)
More long hair fiberglass in the mix.
Found another frame hole. Cut out the bad, and sealed up with rust killer.
New plate going in. Again, some more 1/4"
Cleaning up the rear subframe carrier area
Holy shit! There’s a wheel well in place of that rust!
Closed up again.
Today was only about 2hours of work. Most of the time was spent sweeping up debris and such. I’m working my bag off at work saving up for some suspension goodies that I’ll be needing.
He has been too busy working on other peoples stuff to even think about project bastard child. He is such a nice guy like that… to put everyone else before himself.
Theo
I answer for him because he has been working on Bing’s car all week. He started on it yesterday at about 11am (still on it now at 1140am) after a 5 hour nap from working on it for a couple straight days before that even…
Jesus, it’s been hard to get time off work to get things done on the car. Today’s work was basically try and finish up some work on the driver’s rocker panel.
Some parts back from the blasting booth.
Some lightweight filler on the rocker panel.
Finishing up the wheel well. It’s finally done in there.
More rocker panel work.
The inside of the wheel well
Trying to get some body lines to be straight once again
Closed up for the night.
I only got two hours to work on it today, and 30minutes of that was spent getting supplies. Monday is a holiday, so I’ll probably put four or five hours into finishing that damn side.
I found this weird little “black goop” pile on the fender. After I pulled it off, I found this little hole the previous owner covered up. Interesting, they left holes the size of footballs on the outside, but this little hole needed attention? Grinded smooth.
Now here’s an odd problem. The original Nissan motor ran the exhaust down the driver side in that big “dent” area. The Ford motor runs the exhaust down the passenger side. I’m going to run all the fuel and brake lines down the driver side and hopefully be able to hide a 3" exhaust on the the passenger side.
Overall, I think I’m making some pretty good progress. I’ve never done body work before, so I think I did a fairly good job on that rocker panel. I’ve got lots more work to do - and that’s an understatement.

you’ve definitely still got your work cut out for you but keep it up!
Like I already said, get this done for June 10th!
Also, you might have some issues with ground clearance if you run the exhaust down the passenger side, I’d suggest either maybe cutting a hole and rebuilding it similar to the drivers side or just using the some fancy angles in your piping and bringing it over to the drivers side like its supposed to be… ground clearance issues are the worst and you’ll probably regret it later.
The V8 guys bring both of their headers down over to the drivers side, i dont see why you couldn’t do it.

im pretty sure he cant get this done by june 10th, maybe the body work yea, but probably not all the engine assembly and plumbing customization, if you can do that wow i’ll be really impressed, although I highly doubt it, work looks decent so far
