:spank: hot
YES
^
Thats pretty much what mine will look like
As it should
^Too much hood…
Yea my hood is probably an inch shorter than that one.
Can these cars be made to handle properly?
i always like fox body coupes…
some of these are cute
Sure can, just so happens that most of the pics in here are of hardcore quarter mile cars, or mild street cars.
yeah i see that QA1 makes whole replacement subframes with adjustable arms and shit…
and modding these things is stupid cheap too… i spend more on tires every year than it would cost to make one of these things run 11’s.
you can usually pick them up silly cheap down south too since they are such a plentiful hick-mobile
I figured id jump in and add some of the pics i had
some four eyed saleens. I really want to find the front lip and side skirts for my car but have never seen any in real life I think they were super limited production.
I really want these wheels could never find them though
I just like this picture
a couple of widebody foxes
and mine
I would kill for a black 5 speed notch, preferably without porno red interior.
please tell me the produced a car that looked like that
depends on how serious you want to get with it.
mild:
subframe connectors
rear control arms & bushings
rear 5way shocks
front Coilovers & bushings
strut tower brace
13" dual pot brakes up front, 11" single pot out back
~$1500 and she’ll compete with stock “well handling” cars.
beyond that,
throw in a 4pt cage with diagonals to the trans xmember
torque arm (deleting the UCAs and therefore the limiting 2 axis 4link)
panhard bar
Another ~$700 and no more snap oversteer solid axle action, turns become point & shoot.
You can go waaaay beyond this and have a fox that’ll stick like glue for another ~$2k, but most casual HPDE people don’t bother as the above will usually be more then sufficient for weekend warriors.
The main handling issue usually comes back to two things:
The chassis is (rightfully) referred to as wet noodle; sfc’s make a huge difference here. Obviously a 6pt will only help further.
-And-
The rear upper / lower control arms are (shity stamped stockers) at such horrible angles that the solid axle can drift off center as much as 1" in either direction, loading up the (10+ yr old) bushings such that when you come out of the turn the susp unloads and you have snap oversteer.
A beefy set of CArms and bushings bandaid the problem fairly well.
Changing to a poor mans 3 link (TqArm & LCAs) eliminates this altogether.
umm i dont really remember where i got the pic from but i believe it was one of the mclaren based fox cars built they made a few cars including a asc mclaren capri roadster although they were all low production and over priced and ultra rare just like the saleen foxes.
ORLY?
That thing was a piece! But, good for what it was: Cheap, hardy, and a safe investment
I don’t have pictures of all of mine, in fact I only have a handful of pictures of my current one… :gotme:
wow i want a notch now…!!!
seee…
ooo get some more pics of that white one
