no car is ever designed in a way that intentionaly allows the passanger compartment to come apart …
its better to roll down the road being shaken in an intact compartment then it is to have the passanger compartment come apart and be drug down across the pavement , or hit something else and be crushed … like teh gaurd rail on the other side of the street
F1 cars were designed to fall apart on impact… but not the cockpit.
Imagine hitting a wall… the steering wheel and floorboards and dash are ripped away from you, and then your legs are flinstone styles down the road at 100+… that would be funny and suck at the same time.
Thats what i was thinking… I didnt realize the passenger compartment on the Enzo shown was destroyed…but in general the rest of the car besides the cockpit shreds into pieces
I uhh think Ferrari knows what they are doing with CF.
The guys over on 6speed are saying the crash was somewhere around 160-180 into that left hand wall. Any car is going to disinegrate when you hit a concrete wall that fast.
lol … if he was, i hope he was still soft, would suck to have to have to have a closed casket funeral for the passanger cause they couldnt dislodge his dick from her throat
I have a monocock (and duoballs). It’s (usually) quite rigid, but at 160mph it wouldn’t bend even if it were laid up properly, it would disintegrate like an Enzo.
I don’t expect them either, but sometimes I just can’t help myself!
Seriously, as others have said, in a big crash the cockpit (or should I say “drivers compartment”) should remain intact and the rest of the parts disintegrate. I bet that’s how the Enzo was designed.
