It isn’t horribly expensive ($60 per 8 foot section is what I’ve seen at MSC) but the results will look much more professional than a wood frame, and it will be lighter and more portable.
They like to refer to this stuff as the “industial erector set”. All you need to build with it is a chop saw to cut your sections to the right length. Pretty much all of our production equipment at work is put together with this stuff. I wish I knew about it sooner.
