someone to do a garbage disposal install

looking for someone on here or if you guys know someone reputable to do this. it is a christmas present so imn not looking to do it until december but im trying to price it out find someone who can do the job right not just rig it up like i most likely would.

I can do the electrical side of it.

It really isnt that hard. Youtube the install

hope its not for wife/girlfriend, thats like a vacuum on there birthday :stuck_out_tongue:

if you dont find anyone I could, i installed are’s. its really not too hard

new wiring would be the hardest/longest to do. depending on switch placentment and where your getting your power…it can be a PITA or 123

i know absolutely nothing about the electrical side of it. im sure the install of the disposal itself wouldnt be too tough but the install of the switch id probably short out my house. i just thought maybe someone on here would know how or know someone. since im not even sure who i would call since i doubt plumbers do the electrical side of it and vice versa with electricians.

I can do the electrical, but I will not do the plumbing as it is not my specialty. Do you have room in your panel for a 20A breaker?

Wait… Back up. Is your panel breakers or fuses, who is it made by, how far from the installation site is it.

Now, assuming breakers, is there an open space where a 20A breaker can be snapped in? are there open and available knockouts on the side or top of the box?

Last, is there room under the cabinet for a switch to be installed or will the switch have to be placed in a wall above the counter line?

Do you need a wall switch, or is it built into the strainer part? could you borrow power from a dishwahser? Either way, the plumbing side is easy, as long as the drain in the wall doesn’t come out too high.

Not smart to borrow the power from the dishwasher… all it takes is that one time that the dishwasher is being run and you decide to grind up something and pop goes the breaker, or worse the breaker fails and you are fucked. I would say to do it safely and properly.

lol fu you and your 20a breakers.
my apartment have like fucking 5amp breakers.
If my dishwasher is running (a little countertop dishwasher) and then my fridge kicks on to cool, it pops the breaker -.-

then if im cooking on a griddle, have my computer on… then turn my TV on, I blow the living room breaker…
Ugh.

fucking place is using 1900s electric.

LOL you know that you can have an inspector come in and have that marked as a violation as a rental is supposed to be brought up to electrical code. Well that is if you don’t like your landlord and you have a really solid lease that he can’t just throw you on the street.

PM me with your number. I’m a little busy now, but in a couple weeks I can do it for you.
