I got a job and it owns me right now. I recommend talking to Gary Burch (DeviousTsi) he should be able to help you out. If he can’t you may have to suck it up and take it to a shop.

I think your friend needs to realize no one really wants to work for super cheap on a strangers poorly maintained 18 year old car. A big job on a car like that is almost always going to turn into a complete cluster fuck because parts will break during disassembly or be found broken just trying to get to the part you want to replace. I think that’s why you’re not seeing many people jump up and and say “oh I’ll do for way under book rate”.
