On my way back from vacations at the relative…the 1995 ford e150 conversion van decided to die on us. Out of the blue engine shuts off and no start after that still cranks but no fire. Its the ford inline 6 300ci motor.
I need someone to do it tomorrow or asap. Let me know if anyone can do it.
cant help you on the tow but…
you most likely have a short to ground on your coil, your coil has gone bad, or you have bad primary wiring. connect a volt meter to both sides of the coil and check for voltage, you should get 6 volts that turns on and off when the truck is cranked. on the side not connected to the points (plus side) you should have 6 volts when the key is on. on the other side of the coil you should have a ground that turns on and off when the points open and close. if all of this is OK then you need a new coil $20-$30. if you want to check the coil remove the coil wire and both primary wires. check if either primary side has conductivity to ground, if it does your coil is bad.
So new updates!
