Sony Viao VPCEE34FX - Blown Screen - Fuse Repair

chvyrcng91 pm’d me about his laptop needing repair. He did all the leg work to track down what the actual issue was. After replaced the cable and a new screen it was determined that the motherboard had an issue. I had him bring it over and I took a look at it.

Here is the removed mother board from his PC:

A simply continuity test narrowed it down to this fucker:

If you have the means to figure out what the issue is with your electronics but don’t want to or can’t repair it…PM me.

Hmm…might have to contact you…I’ve had an issue with my HP that I’m looking to sell…almost certain now it might be a bad board, or short or something. The flashing lights indicate it’s a BIOS corruption, but I’ve flashed every BIOS i could and troubleshot the hell out of it. I think it’s electronics of some sort but I don’t know how to test.

I can diagnose to an extent; point to point, visible inspection, continuity testing, etc…I know nothing about computers.

I’d be happy to look at it for you. Just let me know.

Damn nice job

Nice! What was the cause of the fuse blowing? Random?

If I remember correctly the screen “developed” a crack from an appendage being placed on it, AKA, it was stepped on by accident. The crack then shorted out the fuse as this is an LED screen not LCD. LCD has circuit protection against cracking screens. LED, in this instance, did not.

Solid work. Nice.

I can vouch for Luke 100%. This is my board he worked on and did a great job. To a great and very knowledgeable guy.

 it’s one part of computers I want no part of.
