So I was given a 60" smart tv for free. It was not working when I received it, hence getting it for free. I pulled the back and was going to start visually checking things. Everything looks fine, as in no visual burn marks or bad caps. Here is my question at this time though. It has a small ceramic fuse soldered to the power supply
board. I know these are prone to blow. With the power cord plugged in i’m reading close to 120v on both sides of the fuse. However with the power cord unplugged and checking the fuse for continuity I get none. This may be a silly or obvious question, but I just don’t that much about this stuff. Question being is the fuse blown? I could just pull it and re solder a new one in. But I thought i’d ask first if anybody knew if this was normal.
