TV Repair

I have an LG TV that appears to have burnt a couple capacitors. I have not opened it to verify but a Google search of the model and symptom says this happens. I have audio but no picture although the back light is on. TV is a 55LS4500. Anyone want to do some desolder resolder for me?

Mike

Not sure if you knew I had this thread on here previously. Sounds like the same problem. In summary of the thread, I screwed up the circuit board with my less than capable soldering skills. I ended up replacing the whole board. TV still going as we speak. I think I had materials purchase information listed in the thread. Hope you find someone to do the soldering. I also have the original circuit board on a shelf, if you need any spare parts.

I have done my fair share of soldering.

How was Luke not your first contact? Lol

that will work. I have to take it apart and remove the board still. Then I need to order parts so my timeline is pretty long.

i thought he was on an electronics break.

It’s true…some times I am totally swamped. But, I find myself in the season of giving…weird.

Link to repair? I found a whole bunch of stuff for 55LS4500.

If I can diagnose the issue I can probably just repair what needs to be replaced without ordering ALL new spare parts…just a thought.

Bah… Replace a bunch of caps at teh same time…

Why take it apart twice for $7 worth of parts.
:stuck_out_tongue:

This is the company I bought my stuff from. There was a link in my thread.

It is a “spare” TV. There is no real rush. The room that it goes in is in pieces anyhow. I will make a decision this week and get it done. I want it mounted by the 12th sothat I am can be 80% finished on the project.
