Speeding ticket question.

I was on my way to walmart, heading down southwestern right infront of ghetto tops.

The car in front of me was doing 10 to 15 mph under the speed limit… so i sped up and passed him.

This was right before the bridge underpass, so i was going downhill however once i got to the under pass a hamburg cop got me for doing 17 over… He didn’t see me pass the car because of the bridge blocking both of our vision (i couldnt see him either)

is there anything i can do to fight this? Its pretty fucking bullshit how it happened.

Get it reduced that’s it.

By law you’re not allowed to speed to pass someone. Judge will not care about your story.

Neither passing someone nor going downhill are legitimate excuses/defenses for speeding.

Just accept the fact that you got caught speeding. Go to court, plead not guilty, get it reduced, move on with your life.

Unfortunately it is still legal to be an asshole in NYS (and most other states as well) but they’re right. No excuse for speeding. Still talk to the prosecutor (Sorrentino) and see if he’ll work with you. Maybe bring him a Calzone.
