no major updates really.
just been driving the wheels off the thing daily.
still rubbing nickels together trying to justify a cam/valve springs/pushrods/timing kit/stall converter/trans cooler purchase…

just throw a turbo on it, you’ll make way more power on 5psi than a cam swap for a few more bucks.

I can see why you’d want to just stick with a cam for simplicity, though

cam/converter/etc = minimal downtime for my only vehicle and roughly $1k

turbo = much longer downtime and in the neighborhood of $4-6k PLUS im sure the trans wouldn’t be able to handle that kind of power so add an extra $3k for a built trans

don’t get me wrong I would LOVE to turbo this thing.
but I don’t have any fab skill, no garage and no local friends interested/knowledgeable/willing to help walk me through such a task

Considering you actually drive it a lot, have you looked into a used Maggie or whipple kit? 3-4K weekend bolt on etc.

I’m with you on the trans thing, that’s why my turbo kit is sitting in my back room instead of on the truck.

cam is probably the smartest choice for you then, especially being a daily and not having to deal with the usual fuckery that comes with custom FI. Did you decide on a cam yet? 224R?

if you can find me a COMPLETE TVS-2300 for $3-4k yeah I would totally do that but I have only been able to find used kits that are either thrashed and need a rebuild or are missing key components

man that shop is AWESOME! Good deal on the AC temps. Once I saw my breath in a single cab s10 I had that was left running with the ac on recirc for a while.
