Spent the Weekend with a Galant VR4

So a good friend of mine is just finishing up his time in the Marines. He had lots of leave built-up and is burning it off so he thought he’d come out to the Bay Area for a “weekend” of fun. So more or less I ended up driving his car since Thursday 'till today.

I fuggin’ love that car. It’s pretty stock (JDM FMIC, JDM Hood, and a light-bar, LOL, other than that it’s stock, even the muffler) so it actually doesn’t break. It turned 150k miles on Sunday and everything still works, it’s still tight and mostly rattle free, it fits 4 big guys nicely, the interior is mad nice for a 15 year old car, it’s mildy quick, and it’s just a fun to drive car. We even RallyXed it on Sunday (pics to come) and it ran right there with the non-STI WRXs and beat some of the STI/EVO guys who weren’t great drivers. It was about 5 100ths of a minute (SCCA RallyX uses 100ths minute not seconds) behind the fastest cars (modded STIs with billy-bad-ass drivers) and my buddy had never RallyXed before (he raced it, not me).

I had planned to go look at one that was for sale right after the RallyX but it literally sould while I was out racing. Gh3y. I need a GVR4.

thats funny… thats nice though. There very different and there becomming harder and harder to find. Neat cars.

Yeah… the one that sold right out from under me is pretty much the only one I found up for sale right now. There were only 2091 I think it was brought to the US. :frowning:

I think it was somewhere around 1200… Paul (flatblackterror) had one for a while, needed a lot of work though.

3500 of them were sold between 91-92. about 1300 haven’t been sent to the crusher or totally junked by now. I just sold one about 8 months ago. they are really nice cars if you can find one that isn’t rusted to death.
