Spooling slower after MBC install?

I took a home made boost controller off, and put a new turbo XS MBC on. Now it seems to spool slower and has alot less pull. I went from 18 PSI to 15 PSI. Feels like I went to 8 PSI.
Any Ideas or am I just not used to the less boost?

put the other one back on and see how it feels? maybe its something else.

is your gauge show the same psi?

3#s can make a noticable difference on “pulling slower” depending on the app & turbo.

As far as spooling slower - what is the cracking pressure of the MBC?
single port gate? Dual port? If dual, top or bottom can?

A softer spring could be letting it creep open. This would make the power feel more linear, and not so on/off.

not only that… but maybe you have a vacuum leak now…

you never know

put the old one back on and see whats up…

yea, a vacuum leak at the mbc will cause the wastegate to open sooner which would cause the car to feel slower/build less boost/etc.

No, I’m hitting 15 PSI now.

I guess I should read up on the MBC From the site
High Perfomance Boost Controller (BC-HPBC)
Utilizing a uniquely engineered ball/spring mechanism combine with an adjustable bleed valve, the BC-HPBC allows you to spool your turbo to full boost up to hundreds of RPM faster than stock! The adjustable bleed mechanism lets you minimize the massive boost “spike” that can occur with poorly designed ball/spring manual boost controllers.

I will have to play with these adjustments some more, as far as the old boost controller… its toast. Don’t matter how I adjust it, it wants to go full boost.

and thats a problem? lol…

Right now it is lol

Not to sound like an ass, but do you have it in backwards?

would that matter? all a boost controller does is allows less vacuum to act on the waste gate diaphragm, so it should work in either direction, no?

It would if there is a bleeder on one side.

sounds like you have it in backwards or the spring pressure is to soft. I never had any real luck with mbc’s so i run ebc now.

You don’t sound like an ass, I’m asking because I’m not sure.

I believe it should feed to the bottom nipple in that pic, and the one facing right should lead to the wastegate.

So I am retarded?

its not like there were instructions, were there?

turbo xs stuff is all backwards…compared to a lot of other things…you have it right in the pick.

why did you take the other one off if it was working? just wondering…also i hate turbo xs products
