Sport Compact Races at Lancaster?

Who here would be interested and would go if lancaster had races one day a week for sport compacts. Like how they had the midnight runs a couple years back but instead it would be at 5pm and go to 11pm.

Give me some suggestions. Good idea or bad idea.

I was just there for the first time and had a lot of fun!
My schedule is waaay to full to go every week but I think there might be enough sport compacts around to make this work.
Hell people are always going to Mighty, why not meet at a track?
I mean isn’t a track a better place for car people to meet?
Some of the young bucks seem to have cash problems so it would be best to keep it low priced since a large portion of sport compact owners are young.
My 2 cents.

Do you have some sort of pull at Lancaster? If so, yeah go for it the more places we have to race the better. And while your at it, see if you can get them to move somewhere we can get a 1/4mi out of too.

Now that I think about it the only way you will get sport compacts is to have roll racing.
(Sorry I couldn’t resist)

^ lol…I heard some stories about some Civics while everybody was at the Taffy’s meet…short-shifting, bad dial-ins, etc…haha

Meets at the track would be cool…though on Tuesdays at Lancaster it’s amateur night, and there IS a sport compact class.

but it sucks for people like me who have to race the normal class because i have a V-6…nor am i a compact but still

interested

if it was a 1/4 mile ALOT more people would be down for somthing like this… plus the fact that times at lancaster are generally 2-3 tenths slower than at NYI thru the 1/8th kinda makes it not worth it

the people that run lancaster pulled me aside to ask me if I thought I could get everyone interested in doing a one night a week thing.+

those people are awesome i was with the roots collision booth on sunday with all the tuners the officials are awesome

o sh!t i didnt even notice that was u jr its stevie lol

How does that matter the person in the other lanes times will also be 2-3 tenths slower also…

Not to mention this can give people more time to practice their launch which is what drag racing is all about.

I was going to say the same thing but, I only have one day of drag racing under my belt.:biglaugh:

^^ true

because i didn’t build my car for 60’ times, i could really care less :gotme:

Lancaster is a LOT closer than NYI. We could do Lancaster more often, like Taffy’s or Mighty, but NYI maybe once or twice in the summer.

It would be nice to get a day for the sport compacts I think. The lancaster people are very interested in doing this.

I think the key is to let it catch on and not give up after two weeks.
“If you build it they will come”. (Eventually):biglaugh:

It takes time for enough people to get used to putting it in their schedule.

im in, i know fo like 2 or 3 others that def would be to

:word: on keeping it cheap
