Sprint phone (blackberry) as a modem

Up until a month ago I was able to tether my blackberry to my laptop and use it while traveling to access the internet. Sprint has disabled that feature and tells me that there is a 3rd party solution for this.

I would like to connect via Bluetooth between my phone and laptop if possible and use the phone as a modem. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling and I don’t want to pay each day in the hotel room to access the internet.

Anybody know how to set this up or what program to use?

Got a free solution? A 7-day trial doesn’t even cut it enough for me to waste my time even reading about it.

No. pay to play.

does vzw or att let you do this for free?

I do it for free with my $10 a month unlimited data plan with Windows Mobile and AT&T…

man, you guys really can fuck up any thread.

a specific question was asked.

reopened, but please keep it on topic, this is a pretty specific thread.

check the link I posted.

i didn’t check your link because the op’s response made it sound carrier specific.

edit: not the op, but the next response.

mine and joe’s responses were nowhere near off topic enough to lock this, stop being so reactionary. <3 you geoff.

my question was legitimate and thought if it was answered it would give the op more options.

I blame still being sick.

To specifically answer, yes, this is typically a feature all carriers charge for.

The tetherberry software appears to get around that. there might also be some other work-arounds. at the end of the day, data is data…
