Squeaky Brakes

No need to.

if they were squealing chances are the rotors prob got glazed and needed to be resurfaced

you always need to atleast rough the surface of the rotor up in order to properly transfer breaking material between the pad and the rotor in order to properly break in the brakes. the may have been with in out of round spec, but you need to take an orbital steel brush and rough the surface up.

Thanks… I didn’t know about doing that. I"ll make sure to that as soon as I’m able.

well 25 dollars = cheap semi metalic pads i bet the squeal like a school bus

nah… they’re actually quite nice

Also, as far as “scuffing” up the rotors… I’m being told by some reliable people that it isn’t needed unless they are rusted up… so i’ll hold off on that too.

^^ word. If they dont squeel now, they will.
definately do something about those rotors though.
I personally always replace everything (pads and rotors) when it comes to these things. why go through the aggrivation.

meh do what you want and not stop as well since the material is different and the build up will not grip as well.

So you finally listened to me… took you long enough.

Scuff up the rotors?

Whoever told you that is a liar.
Your rotors were rusty, all of them are. Once they see rain 1 time, even if the brakes are never applied they will rust. Libertys do not come with stainless rotors, so yes, they were rusty.

Who did you ask? They were not a credible source. Even if you just go over them with sandpaper… it is better than nothing. Turning rotors is super cheap and will increase brake pad life.

i deal with brakes all day every day . i see comebacks all the time. ill never throw pads on a car without cutting,or replacing the rotors. cheaping out is never worth it.

Except for that whole caliper-bolts rusted, and rotors rusted to the hubs thing that tends to happen in Buffalo…

Believe it or not they weren’t… wow Jack is wrong…
