I have a s13 redtop with the little cooling fins on the valve cover
the compression is good but i have a feeling it had little or no oil pressure
I have the valve cover off right now and i dont see any oil when i crank it
Any ideas? how do i know for sure if the oil pump is gone?
hmm…iono did u try an oil pressure gauge
This is the one that was also ticking… could these problems be linked? What does your oil pressure gauge say on your cluster?? try an a/m mechanical gauge
This is a different engine lol i have had bad luck lately
one had bad compression
one had a ticking noise
now this one has no oil pressure i think
Check the oil pick up in the oil pan. They can get easilly dented, especially if the engine was ever dropped or set on the oilpan.
Usually you can just bend the pickup back into the original shape.
