not true. There are lots of American cars that I would rock. Z06, Viper, Impy SS (with the LT1’s). Hell, even an F-body.
The crossfire isnt that bad of a car, but for 10K more than a C5 Z06, who the hell would buy one?
Its going up against the SC430, SLK32 AMG, S2K, 350Z/G35, C5/C6, E46 M3, M Coupe/Roadster… without a slick shifting 6 speed, I dont see too many enthusiasts really jumping on this bandwagon.

I’d take a Z06 over an E46 M3 anyday of the week.
I’m not a big fan of the Crossfire, or anything Chrysler/Dodge puts out.
I don’t even like the Viper that much to be quite honest. I think its cheaply built, and under performs for its cost.
But if i want a sports coupe, and out of that list, the Z06 is the best bang for buck performance you can get.
S2000-worthless pile of shit, doesnt have the acceleration to warrant the handling
E46 M3-nice luxury sports coupe with decent acceleration and ok handling
SC430-c’mon now, I’ve seen more 60+ year olds in this, than I have seen 50+ year olds in Vettes
SLK32 AMG-just screams I’m a secretary with the need to want to get speeding tickets

thank you, captain obvious. ANd the E46 outaccelerates and outhandles the regular C5, so I guess a regular C5 only handles and accelerates “ok”.
I’ve never seen an E46 M3 out accelerate a C5… C5’s 0-60 right around 4.9-5.0. BMW is claiming 5.3 for the M3.
I have yet to see a showroom stock M3 hit 12’s stock. We all know the C5 is capable of 12.9’s off the showroom
As far as the handling? I think youre a little off there. Where the E46 M3 maybe a good handler, I don’t think the C5 is any slouch compared to it at all. In fact, I’d put my money on the C5.
ya know what, you may be right. I believe the magazine test im thinking of was actually the M5 vs. the C5, with the M5 edging out the C5. However, I cant imagine the numbers on the smaller and lighter M3 could be that far off of its heavier big brother…

i never liked corvette’s and never will, but the new c6 with 400hp is a pretty damn good buy. But i’d still take a m3 or even an s4 over the vette anyday.
also i k cheaper than the c5
the current M5 is actually right on par with the C5, same 1/4 times and 0-60 (due to its massive weight). Handling still goes to the C5 though, especially a Z51 equipped C5
