SSDragon's updated project pics...

its been a while since ive been on here so i figured id give an update. hahn racecrafts turbo kit will be going on this car as soon as its released here next month.

so your dumping the supecharger for the turbo… we need more info here.

I think she has the NA cobalt ss

Car looks good, only thing i would do is lose that spoiler. Can wait to see the numbers for from that motor, does HPT or anyone make tuning software for it yet? Are you on www.ecotecforum.com ?

No, he has the base SS with the 2.4L Ecotec 170hp (LE5) Not The SS S/C with the 2.0L Ecotec 205hp (LSJ).

Yep

if it’s NA why is there a boost gauge installed?

its for vacum, :greddy: or my guess is they said the turbo kit is going on as soon as the kit comes out for it

yeah i have the 2.4 ecotec motor dynoing right now at 173whp and 147 wtq. the turbo kit will get me to right around 250whp. the kit is made but hahn said it wont be released till next month. the gauges just recently went in to get ready and get one thing out of the way and its a good thing since the gauges have been kinda problematic and still not perfectly working right yet. hp tuners will be tuning the tranny and engine on the dyno at asap performance.

why waste your money with a kit im sure there are sopme plently mad scientest that can fabb one up for ya!

see if they sell just the manifold? thats the hardest part

I dont know, im a little sketchy about a custom fabbed kit, i just want the highest quality i can buy (or afford) and hahns kit should come in around $3700 or so and they are ecotec specialists so i figure it would be my best bet to go with them. Have you seen what theyve done with the solstice which has the same engine as me. its pretty amazing.

whats that non site sponser stuff about? we cant mention where we are having work done at?

3700 dollars for a turbo kit! thats a hell of a lot of money. Im sure you can get a waaayyy better garret turbo + manifold made and do other things like a front mount and exhaust be alot faster and spend alot less + labor to put it on. I know jeff @ 1st try one of the boards sponsers is putting I believe a 20g on a SS.

x2!!!

That money could be spent in such a better way. I would do more research on it to see if anyone else has done a custom kit.

well, no one has done a custom kit yet on the cobalt ss but there are people talking about doing it. i talked to a shop once before and they said they would need the car a long time and it would be like $5000 installed or something like that. i dont want my car down too long since its my daily driver.

boost gauge on NA car SWEET… thats awesome.

everybodys so friendly here…

are you the person who was asking me to race you in my si on i think fgcoupe or hondatech

a word of advice, and I am sure many will chime in as well… Do not turbo your daily driver! it is just a very very very bad idea! And big name turbo kits are a waste of money most of the time. What you are trying to accomplish could easily be done by any of the local fabrication shops and for a much better price.

i wouldn’t buy a turbo kit. jeff @ first try make a better kit for less money
