Last month this 350Z was finally ready for its photoshoot after a new set of wheels and some other goodies. This is the same one I shot last year that had SSR’s on it. Dan rode with me to Burlington and we both shot the car together as we usually do. Not all of our shots were used for the feature so I am sure Dan will post up his.
You can read the article in the link below as well as see a short video clip of the car:
Hey great work man! I like1, 2,16 and 17 the best. Im not sure about the cooler out front, I know its a throwback to the old datsuns but I just dont think it works on the newer cars but just my. 02
Im not a huge fan of the oil-cooler myself, I dont think many are haha. Overall its a pretty clean car, this is the 3rd or 4th phase its been through. He originally had Volk GT-V’s in gunmetal on it with no air suspension (static). The car rides awesome on air, he has sensors near each corner so the suspension is always maintaining its level as the cars body rolls over dips and bumps in the road.
And yes, those wheels are insane. The rear lip is 8" wide lol.
beautiful and congrats on yet another feature. i bet every time from now on that you shoot a decent looking car the blogs will be all over it for a feature, you two have built nice little names for yourselves over the past year or so. keep it up bruthaz
Love this Z, when I first saw the wheels I was like “Meh” but as I scrolled down they started to grow on me, I guess when you notice how they go with all the Luxury Abstract stuff they really do piece nicely with it
Sick pics as usuall! Cars a bit over the top for my taste. But i see all the work and dig it big time.
Riding in that on air VS something that low on static is a world of a difference isnt it? And like you said, the auto leveling is like a glorified swaybar upgrade if its set to valve side to side too. Set the rebound and compression for XXpsi and it will handle just as well as static, yet air up to keep your body work and underside intact, and the fillings in your head.
So this is a “performance” air ride??? Kinda like the one they advertised years ago on a sti? What does a suspension set-up like this run, not installed?
An air bag is just a spring. The dampers can be as good or as shitty as any coil-over kit out there. The PSI in a bag as designed (extended, compressed heights, sweet spot, etc) is like the LB rating on a spring, setting the cars ride height and working with the R&C valving on the damper. Rest of the suspension works physically absolutly no different, air vs static. Bags are not “perfomance” parts, becasue tuning spring rates for suspension with $100 coils at different spring rates and swapping them is a hell of alot easier and cheaper than swapping out diffrently designed air bags to do the same thing.
You can spend $1000 on suspension minus air managment, or $8000 on suspension minus air.
“The AccuAir TouchPad™ system with e-Level allows you to select three programmable ride heights while giving you full control over each individual air bag as well as paired front and rear adjustment. The RideMonitor™ mode adjusts as needed while driving or parked and the TruPosition™ height sensors provide accurate leveling regardless of load. All of our full air ride kits are engineered to improve ride quality, increase performance and add maximum height adjustability. Now you can get over those annoying speed bumps while still retaining the ability to roll as low as possible.”
Obviously you need struts/bags/etc on top of that which raises the price.
Riding in a car with a full air suspension set up you would think its going to be a sloppy pig all over the road but going around a few corners it retains its firmness. If you go over an uneven section in the road you hear a quick “pssh” as the car levels itself in a split second. There are actually quite a few cars on bags up this way.
